High Court reportersThe High Court has heard that a consultant surgeon who claimed the HSE placed him on enforced sick leave is entitled to return to work. Dr Rajpal also works at Monaghan General Hospital and Connolly Hospital in Dublin. On Tuesday, counsel for the doctor read out parts of a letter from the HSE which acknowledged he is entitled to return to work. In mid-September 2022, he got a certificate from his GP stating he was ready to return to work. Being out of work has damaged his reputation and his ability to earn a living, he claims.
